You’re not bad at marketing... it was just built for someone else. Around here, we use quiet, magnetic strategies. The same ones luxury brands use to build timeless personal brand authority.
Just a wonderful piece!! Having a business that relies heavily on marketing has always felt at odds with my personal brand (a fun dilemma to be an introvert with a very extroverted business). Now that I am branching into a new business - build around my personal brand - I have been really struggling with social. Reading this is a welcome relief!
The introvert with the extroverted empire—iconic, and honestly, been there!
But yes… building something quieter, truer, and still wildly magnetic is the real flex. You have to be sold on the idea before your audience and if it means pushing too far out of your own wisdom, it's not gonna work.
Hey! I saw your post pop up on my homepage and wanted to show some support. If you get a chance, I’d really appreciate a little love on my latest newsletter too always happy to boost each other!
This resonates deeply. I now can see that I am meant for this quiet marketing, as opposed to the loud, flashy marketing we are so used to seeing. Thank you, again Carolynne for your valuable insights.
I loved this. I’m in the process of creating a luxury wellness brand. I have said from the beginning I do not want to post 24/7 on social media and be a part of the circus. I’m creating an elevated brand above the noise- quietly iconic. I was shamed by so many in business for committing to this. This post was the reassurance I needed to hear. Thank you.
This is the most refreshing thing I’ve read on marketing…maybe ever. Feels like a sign of relief, an exhale, and also just so smart. So much more aligned with what I actually value. Thank you. 🙏🏼👌🏼
I loved this, the only point I'd make though is for example the row and Hermes, those founders were pretty well connected to the stealth wealth crowd before they started, even MK&A sure they were child stars, but they were very wealthy .. .. I'm not saying posting more like mad is the answer either but getting noticed by THAT client without the right connections is still a challenge I think
Hermès and The Row didn’t have to hustle their way in... they were already in the room. But here’s the thing: they didn’t waste that access. They built brands with gravity. They were ready when the right eyes landed on them.
Quick example... because this is the sauce:
A friend of mine once met the head honcho at "massive Ad company that shall remain nameless". Not at a networking event. Not through some fancy connection. On holiday. A swim-up bar of all places!
They got to chatting. Casual. No pitch, no pressure. My friend mentioned that his business was expanding into a space "Big Ad Co" couldn’t serve. And that random poolside conversation turned into a long-term, high-value relationship.
Why? Because he was ready.
That’s what we’re talking about here. Quiet marketing isn’t about chasing connections—it’s about building a brand that’s ready when the moment comes.
Because you don’t just need a relationship.
🔥 You need resonance.
So... what if you had an encounter with THAT client this week... would you be ready? 🤍

Fab comment and you’re absolutely right.
